We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal and agricultural data is handled securely. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Goyam mobile application and related services.

Account Deletion Requests (Google Play)

To request deletion of your Goyam account and data, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Goyam app and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile or Account Settings.
  3. Select Delete Account and confirm the request.
  4. If you cannot access the app, email hello.goyam@gmail.com from your registered account contact details with the subject: "Account Deletion Request".

Data deleted after account deletion:

  • Profile data (name, phone number, authentication profile).
  • Field data (saved paddy field boundaries/polygons).
  • Scan history, captured images/videos, and generated reports.
  • User-linked drone scan session records tied to your account.

Data retained for limited purposes:

  • Security and fraud-prevention logs may be retained for up to 30 days after deletion.
  • Encrypted backup copies may persist for up to 30 days before automatic removal.
  • If required by law, specific records may be retained for the legally mandated period.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our crop analysis and drone-integrated services, we collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: When you create a profile, we collect your name, phone number, and authentication details.
  • Geolocational Data: We collect precise GPS coordinates to map the boundaries of your paddy fields (polygons) and track drone telemetry data (such as flight paths and altitude) during active scanning sessions.
  • Media and Files: We collect the photographs and video feeds captured by your mobile device or connected DJI drone to analyze crop health.
  • Offline Sync Data: If you use the app without an internet connection, we temporarily store scan data locally on your device until a connection is re-established for cloud synchronization.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect strictly to operate and improve the Goyam platform:

  • To process images through our Artificial Intelligence models to detect paddy diseases (e.g., Rice Blast, Brown Spot).
  • To generate downloadable, shareable PDF diagnostic reports for your records.
  • To manage your fields and maintain a historical log of crop health.
  • To ensure safe and compliant communication between the mobile application and connected drone hardware.

3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal or agricultural data to data brokers or advertising agencies. However, to provide our services, we securely share specific data with trusted infrastructure partners:

  • AI Processing Providers: Images uploaded for disease detection are transmitted to external AI inference servers (such as Hugging Face) purely for diagnostic processing.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Your account details, field locations, and scan histories are stored securely using modern Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) providers (such as Supabase) and hosted on cloud platforms (such as Railway).
  • Hardware Integrations: To facilitate drone flight, the app communicates with DJI Mobile SDKs. Please refer to DJI’s privacy policy regarding how telemetry data is handled by the hardware manufacturer.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission and at rest. All data sent between the Goyam app and our cloud servers is encrypted using standard internet security protocols (HTTPS/SSL). Authentication is managed via secure, token-based systems (JSON Web Tokens).

5. Your Data Rights

You have full control over your data. Within the application, you can:

  • Modify Information: Update your profile, phone number, and field boundaries at any time.
  • Delete Scans: Remove specific disease scans from your history.
  • Account Deletion: You may permanently delete your account, which will cascade and permanently erase all associated fields, scans, and personal data from our active servers.

6. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as we add new features or change our technology stack. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
